Upcoming Exhibition in Celje, Slovenia - Galerija Kvartirna hisa – November 6th 2026
Galerija Kvartirna hisa is hosting an exhibition with a planned opening on 6th November 2026, and a move to Gallery Insula in Izola for the next exhibition period, with negotiations ongoing for the final gallery in Maribor.
Kvartirna hiša Gallery
The Kvartirna hiša Gallery, which operates within the framework of the Celje Tourist and Cultural Association with a tradition of over 150 years, has its premises at Gosposka ulica 3, in a building with preserved early Renaissance architecture from 1571. The rich history and airy, bright ambience in the middle of the old town give the gallery a particularly attractive note. On more than one hundred square meters of exhibition space, exhibitions of both Slovenian and foreign artists have been regularly opened since 2011, who, with their diverse and high-quality production, establish the mission of the gallery. We record an enviable number of painting, graphic art, sculpture, photography and design installations, where we promote and interpret works of art by authors of all generations and present important names of the Slovenian art tradition (e.g. Ivan Napotnik, France Mihelič, Jože Tisnikar, Jože Ciuha, Bogdan Borčić, Zvest Apollonio, Janez Lenassi...).
We also pay special attention to local artists. The gallery program is focused on cooperation with numerous other galleries and institutions, including at the international level. Establishing and maintaining contact with artists and external collaborators and many guest exhibitions, together with top-notch artistic production, place the gallery on a high reference scale with mass visits. In addition to art exhibitions, other events are occasionally held in the gallery premises, such as literary evenings, concerts, lectures, drama productions and performances. One of these is the animated presentation "Sophie Hess' Tea Party", prepared for booked groups, which, along with bourgeois pastries and seasonal drinks, evokes the memory of the fateful love between Alfred Nobel and Sophia Hess, two historical figures directly connected to today's gallery spaces.
